Vendor Deep Dive Overview

Olds Research is almost entirely different from traditional analyst firms or sponsored content platforms.

We don’t push expensive reports that almost no one reads. We don’t run advertising. We don’t do lead generation.

We’ve built something more focused and independent.

Management is demanding AI, and they want it fast. More and more applications and workloads are getting AI features injected into them, and this trend is only going to accelerate.

The result is a Perfect Storm for data centers: exploding computational complexity, much higher power density, serious cooling challenges, and skyrocketing electricity costs. Traditional enterprise infrastructure wasn’t built for this. Data centers are being forced to adopt many of the hard-won lessons and technologies from high-performance computing (HPC) — whether they like it or not.

But there are ways to cope with these changes and come out of the storm in better shape than when you entered it.

For the past 25+ years I’ve been deep in the trenches of HPC and high-end computing. Olds Research exists to translate those hard-earned lessons into clear, practical, no-BS guidance that data center teams can actually use. We give both technical staff and business-side executives straightforward explanations they can understand — along with real starting points they can trust when it’s time to justify budgets and make decisions.

On the public, fully ungated site you’ll find in-depth explanations of why this shift is happening, what it really means for efficiency and TCO, practical frameworks for infrastructure improvement, and carefully curated vendor tables in key categories such as cooling, power, systems, and operational management. Our goal is to help data center professionals cut through the hype and find real solutions.

The Deep Dive Offering

For vendors who want to reach this audience more effectively, we offer an annual Deep Dive partnership:

  • A dedicated page on oldsresearch.com, prominently linked from your name in the relevant vendor tables.
  • A substantive, analyst-style video interview with me. These conversations are designed to position you as a thoughtful industry leader, not just another company pushing products. We discuss real technical and market challenges in a candid way.
  • Space to showcase your latest solutions, case studies, white papers, and other resources.
  • The ability to update the page throughout the year — including additional interviews (for example, from conferences or trade shows) as new developments arise.

Price: $7,500 per year

This is not pay-to-play advertising. The core site and all vendor tables remain completely independent and editorially controlled by me. The Deep Dive is simply a way for serious vendors to give qualified readers a fuller, more detailed view of their capabilities and thinking.

Promotion & Visibility We actively promote the site and Deep Dive content through regular LinkedIn and X posts, targeted sharing in data center and HPC communities, and inclusion in new content roundups. Deep Dive pages benefit from direct links in the main vendor tables as well as ongoing promotion as the overall audience grows.

If you build real technology in areas like liquid cooling, power delivery, accelerator-based systems, or workload/operational management — and you want to position yourself as a credible thought leader with the exact professionals who are wrestling with the AI-driven infrastructure shift — this may be a good fit.
